Welding

Qualified welders are in demand around the state and nation. The Academy at Goodwill offers a welding certification program focused on equipping soon-to-be welders with the safe and appropriate use of welding machines, torches and common hand tools used in the welding process. This course is perfect for an individual who has an interest in welding, with a little bit of experience and wants to pursue a career as a welder.

Classes will meet Monday through Thursday with Friday available for students to schedule make-up sessions or extra practice. Classes will be offered during two time slots. The morning session will meet from 8 a.m. to Noon, and the afternoon session will meet from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Enrollment is open for a total of 12 students (Six students in each session) on a first-come, first-served basis.  Once a student is enrolled in either the morning or afternoon session, they must remain in that time slot for the entirety of the program.

The cost of the course includes curriculum, books, in-class instruction, access to the welding lab equipment, weld test certifications in SMAW and FCAW, and a welder kit that the student keeps after successful completion of the program. Financial aid is available to those who qualify. Payment plans are also available and can be discussed with the program manager at the pre-enrollment interview.  A $100 deposit is due upon registration.
