Say Goodbye to Summer Without Over-Spending

Updated: Jan 4, 2022

The days are gradually getting shorter, and summer is quickly winding down. Labor Day is just a couple of days awaythe unofficial end of summer. You should send summer off right.

Whether you’re planning a gathering around the pool, enjoying the outdoors, hosting a relaxing BBQ or spending a weekend at the lakea quick stop at your local Goodwill will check off all your needs without breaking the bank. We went in search of a summer-themed celebration at the North Little Rock Goodwill on JFK Boulevard, and here’s what we found:

Get out and enjoy the outdoors while getting some exercise and unleashing your competitive spirit. You don’t play tennis and golf every weekend, so why spend big bucks on gear? Get a tennis racket for just a couple of dollars or an entire bag of golf clubs for just $20!

Whether you’re serving up frozen cocktails, ice cold lemonade or homemade ice cream, Goodwill’s assortment of glassware is unbeatable, with each costing only about a dollar.

picnic fun

I found these quality solid baskets lined with fabric that scream picnic, and they had several different colors to choose from for just $5 each. You can use them to hold your plastic utensils and napkins, serve chips or your favorite cookies or muffins. If you’re picnicking, especially if you’re going to be the guest, don’t forget to get a travel carrier. Just grab a cake, pie or cookies and this $3 dessert carrier and you’ll be the hit of the party. Check out this cute “cocktail hour” decorative sign we found! It’d look so cute next to your drink bucket.

flip flops, hat, sunnies, bag on beach

Surf’s Up! You can find everything you need for your end of summer swim party! From $4 flip flops and bathing suits to hats and sunglasses you can get for just a buck or two, you’ll be ready to lounge in the water and bask in the sun.

Happy shopping! Remember, when you shop at Goodwill, you’re helping fund our mission of changing lives through education, training and employment.
