It’s probably safe to say, the summer heat has subsided, and we can officially say “goodbye” to sweltering temps. That’s not a hint, though, to put away the short sleeve tops and relegate your closet to big fluffy sweaters. In fall in Arkansas, you’ve got to love layers.
You don’t have to live here long to know that our weather is always changing. What’s the saying: “If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes?” Layers are your friend. They give you flexibility. They’re fashionable, and at Goodwill they’re also affordable.
We strolled the isles of the Goodwill on W. Markham in Little Rock, and it only took us about 30 minutes to put together all of these outfits. For less than around $20, some much less, they are outfits that can adapt to the changing weather—and give you flexibility if you go from the office to a casual lunch with friends.
Adding a fashionable jacket is an easy way to create layers. They allow you to mix colors and fabrics, and they are easy to remove if you find yourself in a hot office or caught in a November heatwave.
Sweaters can also be paired with shirts to offer more flexibility as the seasons change. They can even be a practical accessory of sorts.
Or, to add contrast, you can layer up a casual, solid t-shirt with a bright, patterned blouse. It’s fun and adds a pop of color on a cloudy winter day.
While you’re updating your look, you are also helping change people’s lives. Because that’s what we do at Goodwill. Educate, train, and find jobs for people like Lyonel.
So feel good while you’re looking good. #BringGoodHome
