  • Soft items donated at this time are being stored until health guidelines deem them unable to spread the virus.

  • You do not need to exit your vehicle or bring the donations inside. Pop the trunk, we’ll do the rest!

  • We are now offering home pickup in several areas of the state. Visit GoodwillAR.org/pickup for details.

  • Shop from your home and have purchases delivered right to your door. Visit Shopgoodwill.com for details.

  • All job training classes, programs offered through The Academy and hiring events are canceled through April 17.

  • At this time, Excel Center classes are scheduled to resume April 17.

A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT AND CEO

To All Arkansans—Our Shoppers, Donors, Students, Employees and Community Partners,

Like all our citizens, we are very concerned about the coronavirus (COVID-19). We are aware that the impact of COVID-19 will disproportionately impact people in our communities who have limited resources, options and access. We are committed to stand by and with the people who need us most during this critical time.

We continue to monitor recommendations from national, regional, state and local authorities. We are taking the following steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of our team, our customers and those we serve:

  • We are instituting additional sanitizing and cleaning protocols in all our stores, career centers, attended donation centers and outlet stores.

  • We are suspending skills training and hiring events for the safety of the communities we serve as well as our own staff members.

  • We are postponing events in our facilities or other venues and conducting meetings virtually as often as possible.

  • We are suspending all non-essential business travel.

  • We are providing flexibility for team members to work from home, when possible and adjusting their schedules as needed.

  • We are committed to ensure uninterrupted pay for a period should a team member be required to be out of the workplace due to a COVID-19 related illness.

Thanks to the generosity of Arkansans who donate funds, gently used items or shop in one of our 36 stores and online, we are able to offer many services at no cost to participants. We employ nearly 1000 team members in Arkansas. We are working hard to maintain operations as long as we can do so safely. Many people are depending on us to keep them safe and healthy while supporting them to sustain their families. This is a responsibility we take quite seriously.

We appreciate your ongoing support—it makes a big difference for thousands of Arkansans who achieve family-sustaining employment. Our mission of changing lives through education, training and employment help those with barriers to employment find jobs that provide better wages, benefits that support their families and opportunities to develop so they may build a career.

Across Goodwill, we are practicing these steps to keep our communities healthy and safe, and we encourage you to do the same.

  • Handwashing is one of the best ways to protect yourself and others. Use warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds. (About the time it takes to sing the ABC song twice).

  • Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue and dispose of it right away. If a tissue is not available, cough or sneeze into your elbow.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

  • Avoid contact with people who are sick.

  • Stay home if you are ill.

  • Clean frequently touched surfaces often.

  • Practice social distancing. No hugging, handshaking, etc.

Thank you again for your support and understanding during this critical time. This is a challenging time for us all.

Together, we will get through this.

Sincerely,
