Goodwill Volunteer Opportunities

Goodwill Industries Volunteer Enterprise (GIVE) is a group of dedicated individuals who volunteer their time and skills throughout the state in support of Goodwill’s mission. Volunteers come from all walks of life with the shared purpose of making a difference in the lives of others. You can lend your job skills to teach classes, review resumes or conduct mock interviews. During tax season, prepare taxes and help people claim every dollar to which they are entitled. Services and program opportunities are enhanced because of their interest and involvement.

Goodwill Volunteer Opportunities to serve include:

  • Workshop Presenters, i.e. Professional Development, Resume Development, Interview Tips & Mock Interviews, Crisis Management, Professional Dress, Personal Finance, Parenting, Time Management, Healthy Living, Stress Management
  • Job Shadowing Program / Work Experience Program - A program that allows our participants the opportunity job shadow for a day in order to gain insight into various fields. (time commitment - 4 - 8 hours)
  • Business Tours - Allowing groups of our participants to tour various businesses.
  • Career Presenters - Presenting to our participants information about various career opportunities
  • Assistance in the Mission Development Department
  • Plan and Coordinate Special Events – i.e. clothes drives, awareness activities
  • Community Outreach - To contact area community agencies, political agencies, and potential donors regarding our programs 

Who can volunteer?

  • Volunteers must be 21 years of age or older
  • An application form must be completed. The form should be submitted to the Director of Mission Development for review before placement.
  • All new volunteers must complete an Orientation and Training session. These sessions will be conducted by the management staff or by a program supervisor.
  • Goodwill does accept court ordered volunteers if they meet the basic qualifications.
