Our Mission

Goodwill is Green

recycle through donating

The Great American Cleanup 2012

Goodwill Industries of Arkansas is proud to be the ‘Preferred Reduce/Reuse/Recycle Partner’ for the Great American Cleanup 2012. Now through May 31, communities around Arkansas will be coming together to pick up litter, recycle and spruce up their neighborhood and parks. In addition to cleaning up, the Great American Cleanup and Goodwill are encouraging the public to drop off gently used goods and e-waste at their local Goodwill donation center. Donating to Goodwill keeps items out of the landfill and gives people jobs. Over12 million pounds of goods were donated last year diverting them from landfills. And through Goodwill’s e-cycling program, over 340,000 pounds of computers and other e-waste were recycled and last year alone.

Upcoming Great American Cleanup Events:
March 10: Little Rock and Sherwood
March 17: Fort Smith

Goodwill is the original "Green" company

Goodwill Industries of Arkansas has been GREEN since the day we opened our doors in 1927. We are one of the world’s largest recyclers.

You may not realize it, but when you shop or donate your gently used items to Goodwill, you set in motion a whole series of earth-friendly activities. Every item you donate or purchase at a Goodwill store is one less item thrown away; one less item in a landfill.

By recycling items through your donations and purchases, we reuse viable resources, and reduce waste on our planet.

Additionally, your donated items create many layers of value. By providing revenue to support our mission and programs, your donated items help people in your community to become more self-sufficient and reach their full potential.

Because of its recycling efforts and education initiatives, Goodwill Industries of Arkansas was selected by the Arkansas Recycling Coalition to receive the 2011 Community Involvement award for its own recycling efforts and promotion of recycling and sustainability within the community.

So, think GREEN! Bring your unwanted items to Goodwill – it’s a great way to recycle and help your environment, and it changes lives, too!

We even take your old computers and electronics! Learn more about Goodwill's Reconnect recycling program.
