JOB CONNECTION is Goodwill’s free job search and referral program designed to assist anyone in search of a job that fits individual needs and abilities.

Our staff and services are here to help an individual develop an effective job search strategy and receive information on the area’s employers. We can also assist with resume development and online job applications.

In the JOB CONNECTION program, our Employment Specialists are available Monday through Friday and work individually with job seekers to identify work skills, experience, and interest in order to provide job leads in the community based on those strengths. We will create a plan with customized vocational goals in mind.

Goodwill Industries of Arkansas, Inc. and JOB CONNECTION strive to provide vocational opportunities to people with barriers to employment.

Requirements:

When meeting with an Employment Specialist, the following documents are required to establish:

Identity (Driver’s License, ID card issued by state or local federal agencies, etc.)

Employment eligibility to work in the U.S. (Social Security card, Birth Certificate, federal documents, etc.)

In addition, a written employment history and list of at least three personal and professional references are needed. If a completed resume is available, we can update or redesign the resume to meet current needs. We also have a free resource room to assist in resume development or interviewing skills.

In order to participate in the JOB CONNECTION, a person should:

  • Be 16 years of age or older, and take an active role in the job search
  • Be ready to participate in a one-on-one meeting regarding the job search
  • Have a home phone or reliable message phone, that is checked daily
  • Return calls and/or complete employer application as soon as possible (jobs    are often filled within hours)
  • Be able to pass a drug screen and willing to undergo a criminal background check
