Planned Giving

Creating a Legacy of Goodwill

Planned gifts to Goodwill Industries of Arkansas create extraordinary opportunities while preserving the future of our mission. At the same time, planned gifts allow you to combine your charitable giving goals with your estate and financial planning goals.

There are a number of planned giving techniques from which you can choose.

Bequest

The simplest method of creating a future gift to Goodwill Industries of Arkansas is by including a bequest provision in your will of a dollar amount, specific property, a percentage of your estate, or what is left after your beneficiaries have been taken care of. Goodwill receives the gift and applies it to our Mission Services fund to provide necessary funding for our programs and services. With a bequest, your assets remain in your control during your lifetime. You can modify your bequest if your circumstances change.

Revocable Trust Giving

If you have established a revocable living trust to pass your property to loved ones while minimizing probate costs, you can also provide that at the termination of your trust a portion of the assets in the trust be used for charitable purposes that you designate.

Life Insurance Gifts

A simple way to make a significant gift in the future is to name a charitable beneficiary to receive all or a portion of the proceeds of a policy no longer needed for its original purpose. Another way is to purchase a new policy naming the charity as a beneficiary or co-beneficiary.

Whatever method you choose, know that your gift will benefit Goodwill tomorrow just as you intend it to today. We encourage you to consult your attorney or financial planning professional to ensure that a planned gift fits into your overall estate plan.
