Goodwill has partnered with Dell to implement the Reconnect program, a program that allows those who have computers and computer equipment that they no longer need to donate these items to Goodwill so that they can be recycled as part of Dell’s recycling efforts.
The Reconnect computer recycling program furthers Goodwill’s triple bottom of line of People, Prosperity, and Planet. The program has allowed Goodwill to create “green jobs” for Arkansans who manage the packaging and shipping of the computer equipment to be recycled.
The Reconnect program was launched in Arkansas in February 2009. Goodwill Industries of Arkansas offers 17 drop off locations throughout the state.
Examples of the types of computer equipment that can be recycled through the Reconnect program are:
Monitors
If the glass is broken, place the monitor in a cardboard box lined with a large plastic garbage bag. Seal the box and clearly label it with "broken monitor" and the date.

If the glass is broken, place the scanner in a cardboard box lined with a large plastic garbage bag. Seal the box and clearly label it with "broken scanner" and the date.
Hard Drives (External or Internal)
Dell and Goodwill Industries do not accept liability for lost or confidential data or software. You are responsible for backing up any valuable information and erasing sensitive data from the hard drive before dropping it off. (If you want to completely erase the hard drive, you can find a number of free services available online.)
