Adult Development Program

Work activity program

Enhancing the Quality of Life Through Independence.

Goodwill assists individuals with developmental disabilities in overcoming barriers. We help them recognize and build on their strengths, enabling them to become more independent, productive, and integrated into the community.

In Goodwill’s Adult Development Program, participants work with a job coach, receive intense training in vocational, social/interpersonal, and community skills areas, and the opportunity to participate in paid training experiences and earn a paycheck. This program is available for persons with developmental disabilities who need long-term, facility-based training and employment through a structured daily program. Program hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. five days per week. Participants are referred from Developmental Disabilities/Department of Human Services.

Growing with Interaction

Job training. Money management. Communication skills. Transportation access. All the basics. We prepare our program participants not only for employment, but for earning a true sense of independence by strengthening participants’ self-esteem and broadening their perceived scope of capabilities.

Our program participants grow and benefit from:

  • Participating in employment readiness training
  • Increasing their job skills
  • Enhancing independent living skills
  • Enjoying social events
  • Earning their own paychecks
  • Increasing self-sufficiency levels
  • Being part of the community
